Earthworm Jim for Game Boy Advance brings the zany, off-the-wall action of the beloved 16-bit platformer to Nintendo’s handheld system. Originally developed by Shiny Entertainment and reimagined for the GBA, this version of Earthworm Jim preserves the series’ signature humor, surreal level design, and chaotic gameplay—though with a few changes due to hardware limitations.

You play as Jim, an ordinary earthworm who becomes an unlikely hero after discovering a super-powered robotic suit. Armed with a blaster, a whip-like worm body, and an endless supply of sarcasm, Jim battles his way through bizarre environments like New Junk City, Heck, and the stomach of a giant mutant goldfish. You’ll face off against a rogue’s gallery of strange and unforgettable villains, including Psy-Crow, Evil the Cat, and Queen Slug-for-a-Butt.

Known for its eccentric humor and expressive animation, Earthworm Jim helped define the "attitude era" of ’90s platformers. The GBA version attempts to recreate that experience on a portable screen, complete with the same weird humor, visual gags, and level variety. While the controls and framerate may not be as smooth as the original SNES or Genesis versions, this handheld port still delivers a nostalgic hit of absurdity for fans of the series or collectors of retro gaming oddities.

Whether you're blasting crows, navigating underwater hamster balls, or launching cows into orbit, Earthworm Jim GBA is a wild ride through one of gaming's most unpredictable worlds. It’s not the most polished version of the game, but it’s a portable piece of platforming history with plenty of personality.
