DuckTales 2 - Famicom
DuckTales 2 for the Famicom is the Japanese release of Capcom’s classic Disney platformer, originally launched in 1993. As a sequel to the beloved DuckTales, this adventure once again puts players in control of Scrooge McDuck as he sets out on a treasure-hunting quest around the world. With the help of his nephews and friends, Scrooge searches for pieces of a lost map leading to a legendary treasure.
The game builds on the original with new mechanics, including upgrades to Scrooge’s signature cane, which can now be used to pull objects, swing across gaps, and interact with the environment in creative ways. Players explore varied stages such as Niagara Falls, Egypt, and the Bermuda Triangle, each filled with secrets, enemies, and hidden treasures. Nonlinear stage selection allows players to tackle the adventure in their own order.
Known for its late release on the Famicom/NES, DuckTales 2 is considered one of the rarer and more collectible Disney titles of the 8-bit era. This Japanese version features localized packaging and text, making it a prized addition for collectors and fans of Capcom’s golden age of platformers.
