Centipede - Atari 2600
Description
Description
Defend yourself against an onslaught of crawling creatures in Centipede for Atari 2600. Based on Atari's iconic arcade hit, this fast-paced shooter challenges players to survive wave after wave of insect attacks while chasing ever-higher scores.
Armed with a trusty bug blaster, players control a small defender at the bottom of the screen and must stop a giant centipede as it winds its way through a field of mushrooms. Every segment destroyed breaks the centipede into smaller pieces, creating new threats that move independently and make the battlefield increasingly dangerous.
The action doesn't stop there. Spiders, fleas, and scorpions enter the screen with unique movement patterns and hazards, forcing players to constantly adapt their strategy. Quick reflexes, accurate shooting, and careful positioning are essential for surviving the relentless insect invasion.
Featuring addictive arcade gameplay, colorful visuals, and endless score-chasing excitement, Centipede became one of the most beloved games of the arcade era and a standout title in the Atari 2600 library. Whether you're reliving a classic or discovering it for the first time, this retro favorite delivers timeless action and challenge.
