Description
Description
Ghostbusters for Atari 2600 is based on the hit film and puts players in charge of their own ghost-catching business. Starting with a limited budget, players must purchase equipment, respond to supernatural activity throughout the city, and capture ghosts before paranormal energy levels grow out of control.
The gameplay combines action, strategy, and resource management as players travel between locations, deploy ghost traps, and use specialized equipment to capture roaming spirits. Successful captures earn money that can be reinvested into better gear, helping players prepare for increasingly challenging encounters.
As ghost activity intensifies, players must carefully balance spending, movement, and capture opportunities to keep the city safe. The game's blend of business management and arcade-style action creates a unique experience that stands apart from many other Atari 2600 releases.
Released during the height of Ghostbusters' popularity, Ghostbusters remains one of the more recognizable licensed games on the Atari 2600. Its creative gameplay and connection to the beloved film franchise make it a memorable addition for collectors and retro gaming enthusiasts alike.
