Gran Turismo 3: A-spec - PlayStation 2 is a realistic racing simulation that puts players behind the wheel of a large selection of licensed cars from manufacturers around the world. The game features detailed vehicle models, a wide range of circuits, and a strong focus on driving technique, car performance, and progression through increasingly challenging events.
Gameplay includes Arcade and Simulation modes, with Simulation mode allowing players to earn licenses, purchase cars, enter race series, and build a growing garage over time. Vehicles can be upgraded and tuned with performance parts, while different drivetrains, tire choices, and handling characteristics affect how each car behaves on the track. Players can also compete in time trials, endurance events, rally races, and local multiplayer.
Developed by Polyphony Digital and published by Sony Computer Entertainment in 2001, Gran Turismo 3: A-spec was the first mainline Gran Turismo game released for PlayStation 2.
