Description
Description
Gauntlet / Rampart for Game Boy Advance is a two-in-one cartridge that brings together two iconic arcade experiences in one portable package. Published by Midway, this compilation features the classic dungeon-crawling action of Gauntlet and the unique strategy-meets-tower-defense gameplay of Rampart, each faithfully adapted for handheld play. Whether you're storming monster-filled dungeons or defending your castle from invaders, this cartridge delivers retro fun with two completely different gameplay styles.
In Gauntlet, you choose from four classic characters—Warrior, Valkyrie, Wizard, or Elf—each with distinct strengths and weaknesses. Your mission: survive endless waves of ghosts, demons, and grunts while navigating sprawling mazes in search of keys, treasure, and the elusive exit. Known for its fast-paced, co-op-focused gameplay in the arcade, the GBA version captures the frantic, loot-hungry action solo-style, complete with classic sound effects and the infamous "Wizard needs food badly" vibe.
Rampart shifts gears into strategic territory. After choosing a castle, you must defend your territory by placing cannons, fending off enemy ships in timed attack phases, and then rebuilding your walls in the aftermath. The cycle of destruction and rebuilding adds a unique challenge rarely seen on handheld systems, and the game remains one of the earliest and most creative blends of action and strategy.
Referred to by fans as Gauntlet GBA and Rampart GBA, this combo cartridge is perfect for retro gamers and collectors who want variety in their library. Both games retain their original charm, adapted smartly for the Game Boy Advance's control scheme and screen resolution.
Whether you’re clearing dungeons or defending castles, Gauntlet / Rampart delivers two distinct and memorable arcade classics in one nostalgic, on-the-go package.
