Pokemon Gold Version - Game Boy Color
Description
Description
Pokémon Gold Version - Game Boy Color is a role-playing adventure set in the Johto region, where players begin a new journey as a Pokémon Trainer and work toward becoming the Pokémon League Champion. The game introduces 100 new Pokémon alongside returning species and features the legendary Ho-Oh as its signature Pokémon.
Gameplay expands on the original Pokémon formula with a real-time day-and-night system, Pokémon breeding, held items, and the introduction of Dark- and Steel-type Pokémon. Players explore towns, routes, caves, and gyms while catching and training a team, battling other Trainers, and earning eight Johto Gym Badges. After completing the Pokémon League, the adventure continues into the Kanto region with additional locations, Gym Leaders, and challenges.
Developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo in North America in 2000, Pokémon Gold Version was released for Game Boy Color while retaining compatibility with original Game Boy hardware. Its expanded world, second-generation Pokémon, new battle mechanics, and return to Kanto helped make it one of the most influential entries in the series and an essential title for Pokémon and Game Boy collectors.
