Blades of Steel - NES
Description
Description
Blades of Steel - NES is an arcade-style hockey game that brings fast-paced ice action to the Nintendo Entertainment System. Players choose from a selection of city-based teams and compete in full hockey matches featuring skating, passing, shooting, checking, and goaltending with simple controls designed for quick, competitive play.
Gameplay emphasizes speed and physical contact, with hard checks and occasional fights adding to the over-the-top arcade feel. Players can control skaters directly, move the puck through passing plays, take shots on goal, and defend against opposing attacks. The game supports two-player local competition, making it especially well suited to head-to-head matches, while the computer provides a challenging single-player experience.
Developed and published by Konami, Blades of Steel was released for the NES in North America in 1988 after first appearing in arcades. Its responsive controls, energetic presentation, memorable fighting sequences, and accessible hockey gameplay helped make it one of the best-known hockey games of the 8-bit era and an appealing addition to an NES collection.
