Description

LaSalle Ishii no Child's Quest - Famicom, released in Japan as ラサール石井のチャイルズクエスト, is a comedy role-playing game built around the Japanese idol group Chails and entertainer LaSalle Ishii. Rather than saving a fantasy kingdom, players travel across Japan while helping the group build popularity and succeed in the entertainment industry.

Gameplay uses many familiar RPG ideas but reworks them around show business. Players explore towns, speak with characters, manage the group’s progress, and take part in unusual encounters that replace traditional fantasy battles with performance-themed challenges and humorous situations. The game mixes turn-based mechanics, travel, item use, and character progression with a distinctly Japanese entertainment-industry setting.

Developed and published by Namco in 1989, LaSalle Ishii no Child's Quest was released exclusively for the Japanese Family Computer and features Japanese-language text throughout. Its unusual idol-management theme, comedic writing, RPG structure, and strong connection to late-1980s Japanese pop culture make it an especially distinctive choice for Famicom collectors, import enthusiasts, and fans of obscure role-playing games.
