Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game - NES is a side-scrolling beat ’em up based on Konami’s popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade game. Players choose Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, or Raphael and battle through waves of Foot Soldiers, mutants, and familiar villains while working to rescue April O’Neil and stop Shredder.
Gameplay focuses on straightforward arcade-style combat, with each Turtle using his signature weapon to attack enemies, perform jumping strikes, and clear crowded stages. The NES version supports two-player cooperative play and expands on the arcade original with additional stages, enemies, and boss encounters created specifically for the home-console release. Locations include city streets, sewers, buildings, and other settings inspired by the animated series.
Developed by Konami and published in North America by Ultra Games in 1990, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game brought the arcade experience home with new content tailored to the NES.
