Dai-2-Ji Super Robot Taisen - Famicom
Description
Description
Dai-2-Ji Super Robot Taisen - Famicom, released in Japan as 第2次スーパーロボット大戦 and commonly translated as 2nd Super Robot Wars, is a tactical role-playing game that brings together characters and machines from multiple Japanese mecha franchises. Players command a team of super robots and Mobile Suits in a crossover storyline featuring heroes and villains from series including Mobile Suit Gundam, Mazinger Z, and Getter Robo.
Gameplay takes place on grid-based battlefields where players move individual units, engage enemies, and make strategic use of each robot’s weapons, movement range, and special abilities. Pilots gain experience through combat, while different machines offer their own strengths in ranged attacks, close combat, mobility, and durability. Story sequences between battles connect the various anime properties into a single original campaign.
Developed by Winkysoft and published by Banpresto in 1991, Dai-2-Ji Super Robot Taisen was released for the Japanese Family Computer and features Japanese-language text. As an early entry in the long-running Super Robot Wars series, its crossover roster, tactical battles, and importance to mecha gaming history make it an appealing choice for anime fans, import enthusiasts, and Famicom collectors.
