NFL GameDay 2002 - PlayStation is a football simulation featuring officially licensed NFL teams, players, uniforms, and rosters from the 2001 season. Players can take control of their favorite professional teams while passing, rushing, tackling, kicking, and calling offensive and defensive plays in an attempt to lead their club to victory.
Gameplay builds on the long-running GameDay formula with updated player models, refined artificial intelligence, and expanded customization options. Players can adjust rosters, create and modify players, and customize playbooks to suit different offensive and defensive strategies. New player-scanning technology and motion-captured animations were used to improve tackles, catches, and blocking, while commentary from Dick Enberg and Dan Fouts adds to the game’s broadcast-style presentation.
Developed by the 989 Sports team and published by Sony Computer Entertainment in 2001, NFL GameDay 2002 features Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb as its cover athlete.
