Official Xbox Original Wired Controller S is Microsoft’s smaller redesigned controller for the original Xbox console. Introduced as a more compact alternative to the larger launch-era controller, commonly known as the Duke, the Controller S became the standard Xbox gamepad for many players and established a layout that influenced later generations of Xbox controllers.
The controller features two analog sticks, a directional pad, analog triggers, face buttons, and the distinctive black and white secondary buttons used by many original Xbox games. Its wired connection plugs directly into an original Xbox console through the system’s proprietary controller port, providing support for the platform’s library without batteries or wireless accessories. The smaller shell and revised button placement were designed to make longer play sessions more comfortable and controls easier to reach.
