Red Faction: Armageddon - Xbox 360 is a third-person action game set on Mars decades after the events of Red Faction: Guerrilla. Players take control of Darius Mason, grandson of Alec Mason, after a disaster forces the Martian population underground and unleashes a deadly alien threat. Darius must fight through ruined settlements, mines, and industrial complexes while trying to contain the growing infestation.
Gameplay combines heavy weapons, environmental destruction, and advanced Nano Forge technology. The Magnet Gun lets players connect two objects and violently pull them together, while the Nano Forge can repair damaged structures and provide powerful combat abilities. Destructible environments remain central to the action, allowing walls, platforms, and other structures to collapse during firefights. Ruin mode challenges players to cause as much destruction as possible, while Infestation mode was designed for cooperative survival against waves of enemies.
Developed by Volition and published by THQ in 2011, Red Faction: Armageddon takes the franchise in a more focused action-horror direction while preserving its signature physics-based destruction. Its inventive weapons, destructible environments, underground Martian setting, and fast-paced combat make it an appealing choice for action fans and Xbox 360 collectors.
