Legend of Kay for PlayStation 2 is a charming action-adventure platformer that combines fast-paced martial arts combat, exploration, and puzzle-solving in a vibrant world inspired by Eastern mythology. Developed by Neon Studios and published by Capcom in North America, the game follows Kay, a courageous young cat who sets out to liberate his homeland after an invading army of gorillas and rats throws the peaceful island of Yenching into chaos.
Armed with his trusty sword, Kay embarks on an epic journey across lush forests, snowy mountains, ancient temples, swamps, villages, and volcanic strongholds. Along the way, he'll battle a variety of enemies, solve environmental puzzles, complete platforming challenges, and meet memorable allies from the island's different animal tribes. As the adventure unfolds, Kay uncovers a conspiracy that threatens the future of Yenching itself.
Combat is inspired by martial arts films, featuring fluid combo attacks, dodges, aerial strikes, and powerful special moves. Throughout the game, Kay unlocks new weapons—including razor-sharp claws and a mighty war hammer—each with its own unique fighting style and upgrade path. Mastering these weapons is essential to defeating increasingly powerful enemies and challenging bosses.
