Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly is a 3D platformer for the PlayStation 2 that continues the Spyro series with a new adventure set in the Dragon Realms. Developed by Check Six Games and published by Universal Interactive, the game follows Spyro as he sets out to recover stolen dragonflies that maintain balance across the world.
Gameplay builds on familiar series mechanics, combining gliding, charging, and breath-based attacks with exploration and light puzzle-solving. Levels are accessed through hub worlds that connect themed environments filled with collectibles, enemies, and traversal challenges. New breath abilities introduce additional ways to interact with objects and environments, adding variety to exploration.
The focus remains on discovery and movement rather than heavy combat, encouraging players to explore each area thoroughly to complete objectives. Returning characters help guide progression while reinforcing the series’ lighthearted tone. Larger environments and updated visual effects reflect the transition to PlayStation 2 hardware.
Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly marks Spyro’s first mainline appearance on the PlayStation 2, offering a platforming experience centered on exploration, traversal, and the series’ signature charm.
