Call of Duty 3 - PlayStation 3 is a World War II first-person shooter centered on the Allied campaign following the D-Day landings in Normandy. The story follows American, British, Canadian, and Polish soldiers as they fight through occupied France, giving the campaign multiple perspectives on the push toward the Falaise Gap and the liberation of Western Europe.
Gameplay combines infantry combat with scripted battlefield sequences, vehicle sections, close-quarters struggles, and large-scale engagements involving allied troops and enemy forces. Players use historically inspired weapons while moving through villages, fields, trenches, and ruined towns. The PlayStation 3 release also originally included competitive online multiplayer with large player counts, multiple character classes, vehicles, and objective-based modes alongside traditional competitive matches.
Developed by Treyarch and published by Activision in 2006, Call of Duty 3 was the first mainline Call of Duty title released for the PlayStation 3 and one of the system’s launch-era games in North America.
