Description
Prototype for the PlayStation 3 is an open-world action game that puts you in the role of Alex Mercer, a man who awakens in the heart of New York City with incredible shape-shifting abilities and no memory of his past. As a deadly viral outbreak engulfs Manhattan, Alex must uncover the truth behind his mysterious powers while battling infected monsters, military forces, and a conspiracy that threatens the entire city.
Explore a massive open-world recreation of Manhattan with unparalleled freedom, sprinting up skyscrapers, gliding across rooftops, and leaping incredible distances. Transform your body into devastating weapons, including massive blades, claws, hammers, and whips, while absorbing enemies to regain health, steal identities, and acquire new memories that reveal the game's gripping story. Complete story missions, side objectives, and military operations as you unlock powerful upgrades that make Alex an even more unstoppable force.
Developed by Radical Entertainment and published by Activision in 2009, Prototype became known for its fast-paced combat, fluid traversal, and sandbox gameplay that encouraged players to unleash chaos in creative ways. Its blend of superhuman abilities, cinematic action, and open-world exploration helped establish it as one of the PlayStation 3's most memorable action titles.
Whether you're expanding your PlayStation 3 collection, collecting open-world action games, or experiencing Alex Mercer's incredible powers for the first time, Prototype delivers explosive combat, thrilling exploration, and a dark, action-packed adventure through a city on the brink of collapse.
