Resident Evil 5 - PlayStation 3 is a third-person survival horror action game that follows Chris Redfield and BSAA agent Sheva Alomar as they investigate a biological threat in the fictional African region of Kijuju. Their mission uncovers a larger conspiracy involving dangerous bio-organic weapons, familiar enemies from the series, and connections to Chris’s past.
Gameplay builds on the over-the-shoulder combat introduced in Resident Evil 4, combining shooting, inventory management, exploration, puzzles, and large enemy encounters. The campaign is designed around two-character cooperation, with either an AI-controlled partner or a second player joining locally or through the game’s original online functionality. Players can collect and upgrade weapons, manage shared resources, and replay chapters for better rankings and additional unlockables.
Developed and published by Capcom in 2009, Resident Evil 5 marked a stronger shift toward cooperative action while retaining many of the series’ horror themes and resource-management mechanics.
