Beyond the Beyond - PlayStation is a traditional Japanese role-playing game set in a fantasy world threatened by war, ancient powers, and supernatural forces. Players guide a growing party of heroes across kingdoms, towns, caves, and dungeons while uncovering the source of a spreading conflict and working to prevent a greater disaster from consuming the land.
Gameplay centers on turn-based battles, party management, exploration, and character progression. Players encounter enemies while traveling through dungeons and overworld areas, earning experience and equipment to strengthen the group. Combat features physical attacks, magic, healing abilities, and character-specific techniques, while success often depends on balancing offensive power with defensive and support skills. The adventure also includes puzzles, hidden items, and numerous locations to discover throughout the journey.
Developed by Camelot Software Planning and published by Sony Computer Entertainment, Beyond the Beyond was released for PlayStation in North America in 1996. As one of the earlier traditional JRPGs available for the system, it represents an important part of the PlayStation’s developing role-playing game library and remains an appealing choice for fans of classic turn-based adventures and retro PlayStation collecting.
