Description
Description
Dune 2000 for PlayStation is a real-time strategy game based on Frank Herbert's legendary science fiction universe. Set on the harsh desert planet of Arrakis, players command one of three powerful Great Houses—Atreides, Harkonnen, or Ordos—as they battle for control of the galaxy's most valuable resource: the spice melange. Each faction features unique units, strengths, and strategies, offering distinct ways to conquer the battlefield.
Players gather spice using harvesters, construct bases, research advanced technology, and assemble powerful armies to overcome rival factions. Success depends on balancing resource management, base expansion, and tactical decision-making while defending against enemy assaults and the ever-present threat of the giant sandworms that roam the desert.
The campaign is enhanced by full-motion video sequences featuring live actors that advance the story and immerse players in the political conflict surrounding Arrakis. A variety of infantry, armored vehicles, aircraft, and devastating superweapons provide numerous strategic options throughout each mission.
Developed by Intelligent Games and Westwood Studios and published by Electronic Arts, Dune 2000 modernized the classic Dune II formula for a new generation of players. Its engaging real-time strategy gameplay, memorable story, and faithful adaptation of the Dune universe make it a standout addition to any original PlayStation collection.
