Description
Description
Parasite Eve for the PlayStation blends cinematic storytelling, survival horror atmosphere, and RPG mechanics into one of Square’s most unique and memorable titles. Released in 1998, it was one of the first games to combine real-time exploration with turn-based combat in a modern setting, offering a fresh take for fans of both horror and role-playing genres. Inspired by the Japanese novel of the same name, it stands as a groundbreaking title that bridged the gap between traditional RPGs and cinematic thrillers.
The story follows Aya Brea, a rookie NYPD officer, who becomes entangled in a terrifying chain of events after a mysterious incident at the opera awakens a powerful being known as Eve. Over the course of six days in New York City, Aya must unravel the mystery of Eve’s powers, confront grotesque mutations, and uncover the truth about her own hidden connection to these events. The narrative is both suspenseful and emotional, delivering a mix of horror and science fiction rarely seen in games of its era.
Combat combines real-time movement with a pause-and-plan system, allowing players to dodge attacks while selecting actions from a command menu. Aya’s Parasite Energy abilities serve as powerful spells, giving battles a strategic edge. RPG progression lets players enhance Aya’s stats, upgrade weapons, and fine-tune their arsenal to tackle increasingly dangerous foes.
With its cinematic cutscenes, haunting soundtrack by Yoko Shimomura, and a gripping storyline, Parasite Eve remains a cult classic and a cornerstone of the PlayStation’s library. It’s a must-play for fans of survival horror, sci-fi storytelling, and RPG innovation.
Complete version of this contains the game, with case, manual, and Demo CD.
