Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex - Xbox is a 3D platforming adventure that sends Crash on another mission to stop Doctor Neo Cortex. Cortex unleashes Crunch Bandicoot, a powerful new rival enhanced by four ancient masks known as the Elementals, forcing Crash and Coco to travel across a variety of colorful worlds and collect Crystals to stop their plan.
Gameplay follows the classic Crash Bandicoot formula with linear platforming stages filled with enemies, hazards, crates, collectibles, and hidden paths. Crash can spin, jump, slide, and use additional abilities as players progress, while certain stages introduce vehicles and alternate gameplay styles including flying, underwater travel, and racing sequences. Coco is also playable in selected levels, adding further variety to the adventure.
Developed by Traveller's Tales and released for Xbox in 2002, Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex was the first main Crash Bandicoot platformer to appear on a Microsoft console. Its familiar platforming mechanics, varied environments, vehicle stages, and introduction of Crunch Bandicoot make it an appealing choice for Crash fans and original Xbox collectors.
