Description
Description
The 3rd Birthday for PSP is a third-person action RPG shooter that follows Aya Brea in a darker, more combat-focused entry connected to the broader Parasite Eve universe. Built specifically for Sony’s handheld, this PSP release trades traditional survival horror pacing for faster movement, ranged combat, and a near-future sci-fi setting centered on the mysterious Twisted. It stands out in the PSP library as a stylish portable action game with a stronger emphasis on shooting and cinematic presentation.
Gameplay centers on using guns, special abilities, and the game’s signature Overdive system, which lets Aya jump into the bodies of other soldiers during battle to reposition, survive, and keep the attack going. Missions move through ruined city environments filled with large enemy creatures, giving the game a more structured, chapter-based flow than a typical open-ended RPG. That combination of third-person shooting, ability management, and dramatic boss encounters gives The 3rd Birthday a distinct identity among PSP action games.
For PSP owners, The 3rd Birthday is a notable late-era release and an interesting chapter for fans of Aya Brea and Square Enix’s more experimental handheld titles. Its mix of sci-fi action, impressive portable presentation, and character-driven campaign makes it appealing to collectors, action RPG fans, and players building out a stronger PSP library. It is a solid pick for anyone looking for a darker, story-focused shooter with a uniquely handheld-era feel.
