Description
Description
Step onto the ice with the authentic broadcast power of the "Worldwide Leader in Sports." ESPN National Hockey Night for the SEGA CD is a definitive 16-bit era simulation, upgrading the standard Genesis experience with CD-quality audio and real NHL footage. Released in late 1994, this title is a mandatory essential for hockey historians and SEGA CD collectors who want to experience the legendary Bob Clement’s play-by-play on original hardware.
Ditch the limited cartridge memory and master the technical depth of CD-powered sports presentation. National Hockey Night is a masterclass in multimedia immersion, featuring over 2,000 frames of motion-captured body checks and slap shots, plus a massive library of full-motion video (FMV) highlights that play after big goals. The gameplay is a visceral experience of on-ice strategy; choose between a traditional side-scrolling view or the revolutionary vertical perspective to gain a better look at the offensive zone. This entry is highly regarded for its comprehensive 1994 NHLPA license, including all 26 NHL teams and legendary rosters featuring stars like Mario Lemieux and Wayne Gretzky. The SEGA CD version is a technical standout, delivering Redbook audio for the iconic ESPN theme and a smoother 30 FPS framerate compared to its stuttering 16-bit counterparts. Beyond the Exhibition games, the title features a battery-backed Season Mode, allowing you to track player stats and team standings across an entire 84-game schedule on your road to the Stanley Cup. Whether you’re timing a perfect one-timer or managing line changes mid-period, this title delivers a vibrant and high-energy athletic odyssey. The puck is down—this title delivers the ultimate broadcast showdown on your original SEGA CD hardware.
The Bitjump Standard
This original SEGA CD title is processed and shipped from our shop in Provo, Utah:

- Enhanced Multimedia Features: Includes full play-by-play from ESPN’s Bob Clement and authentic NHL game footage not available in the cartridge versions.
- Disc Integrity Check: Because early SEGA CD media is susceptible to "disc rot," every disc is backlit-inspected to ensure the data layer is free of pinholes and fully readable.
- Professionally Inspected: Every disc undergoes a rigorous visual and technical inspection to ensure the contacts and data integrity are 100% verified. Buy with confidence knowing your season won't be cut short by a loading error.
