Description
Description
Shinobi for the SEGA Game Gear brings the legendary ninja action series to handheld players in an all-new adventure. Take on the role of master ninja Joe Musashi as you battle an evil criminal organization, rescue captured allies, and use your martial arts skills to restore peace across a variety of dangerous locations.
Run, jump, climb, and throw shuriken through action-packed side-scrolling stages filled with enemy ninjas, soldiers, and powerful bosses. Rescue fellow ninja warriors throughout your journey to unlock their unique abilities, allowing you to access new areas and overcome obstacles that would otherwise be impossible. Strategic character switching adds depth to the fast-paced action and encourages exploration.
Released by SEGA in 1991, Shinobi was developed specifically for the Game Gear rather than being a direct port of its arcade or console counterparts. The game received praise for its responsive controls, colorful visuals, and inventive level design, making it one of the handheld's defining action titles.
Whether you're expanding your SEGA Game Gear collection, revisiting one of SEGA's most iconic franchises, or discovering classic ninja action for the first time, Shinobi delivers a rewarding blend of precision platforming, memorable boss battles, and timeless gameplay.
