Description
Description
"Rise from your grave!" Heed the command of Zeus and battle through the underworld in Altered Beast for the SEGA Genesis. As the original pack-in title for the North American launch, this game was the world’s first taste of the "Arcade-at-Home" power of the 16-bit era. It is a mandatory, high-energy essential for retro gaming purists and Genesis collectors who want to own a foundational piece of SEGA history known for its iconic voice clips and mythical transformations.
Ditch your human form and master the legendary transformation system that redefined the brawler genre. As a resurrected centurion, you must collect Spirit Balls from defeated white wolves to power up your physique and eventually "Power Up" into a series of fearsome mythical creatures. The gameplay emphasizes strategic positioning and timing across five stages of Greek mythology-inspired mayhem; you’ll claw through enemies as a Werewolf, soar as a Weredragon, petrify foes as a Werebear, and pounce as a Weretiger. Each form offers unique projectiles and melee attacks necessary to defeat Neff, the God of the Underworld, in his various grotesque forms. With its large sprites, classic FM synth score, and full two-player cooperative mode, this title delivers a definitive and nostalgic 16-bit arcade experience on your original SEGA hardware.
