Description
Description
SEGA CD Model 2 for SEGA Genesis consoles is an add-on accessory that expands the capabilities of the Genesis by introducing CD-based gaming. Designed to attach to the side of compatible Genesis Model 2 systems, this unit allows players to experience a new library of games featuring enhanced audio, full-motion video, and larger game worlds made possible by CD technology.
This SEGA CD attachment supports a wide range of titles, including games like Sonic CD, Lunar: The Silver Star, Night Trap, and Snatcher. It features a front-loading disc tray, built-in memory for saving progress, and audio CD playback functionality, effectively doubling as a game system and CD player.
As part of SEGA’s hardware lineup, the Model 2 SEGA CD offers a more compact and streamlined design compared to the original Model 1 version, making it a popular choice for collectors and those looking to experience SEGA’s CD-based library on original hardware.
Refurbished for reliability: Cleaned inside and out with attention to the disc drive/laser, power/reset switches, fan, and AV/multi-out ports. The original laser is replaced if it doesn't play any SEGA CD games. Components like capacitors, laser, fan, and other components are replaced as needed.
- Good Condition: Console is fully functional and in overall good cosmetic condition. It may show light signs of wear such as minor scuffs, small scratches, or slight discoloration from normal use, but nothing that significantly impacts its appearance.
- Acceptable Condition: Console is fully functional but shows noticeable cosmetic wear. This may include dents, cracks, scratches, stickers or residue, marker/ink, or heavier discoloration. These flaws are cosmetic only and do not affect performance.
