OutRun - SEGA Master System
Description
Description
OutRun for the SEGA Master System brings one of the most iconic arcade racing games of all time to Sega's 8-bit console. Get behind the wheel of a stylish Ferrari Testarossa Spider and speed across scenic highways with your passenger beside you, racing against the clock through a variety of beautiful landscapes on a cross-country road trip unlike any other.
Drive through branching routes featuring beaches, deserts, mountains, forests, and bustling cities while weaving through traffic and reaching checkpoints before time expires. Each fork in the road lets you choose a different path, leading to multiple unique courses and endings that encourage repeated play. Tight controls, fast-paced gameplay, and the challenge of mastering each route make every run exciting from start to finish.
Developed and published by SEGA in 1989, OutRun faithfully adapts Yu Suzuki's groundbreaking arcade classic for the Master System. While scaled for the 8-bit hardware, it retains the series' signature branching routes, memorable soundtrack, and exhilarating sense of speed that helped make OutRun one of the defining racing games of its era.
Whether you're expanding your SEGA Master System collection, collecting classic arcade racers, or revisiting one of gaming's most influential driving experiences, OutRun delivers timeless gameplay, multiple routes to explore, and the thrill of the open road.
