Description
Description
Prepare for high-intensity vertical shooting in Galactic Attack for the SEGA Saturn, one of the console’s finest examples of arcade-style action. Known in Japan as Layer Section and in some regions as RayForce, this acclaimed shooter from Taito puts you in control of the advanced space fighter XYZ-TLH on a mission to destroy the rogue supercomputer Con-Human and reclaim humanity’s homeworld. With layered depth targeting and dazzling visuals, Galactic Attack delivers a smooth, visually stunning experience that helped define the Saturn’s early library.
The game’s signature lock-on laser system allows you to target multiple enemies across different planes, creating a unique sense of 3D combat in a 2D playfield. Chain lock-ons for massive combos, dodge intricate bullet patterns, and face off against screen-filling bosses across multiple atmospheric stages. Combined with an incredible soundtrack and arcade-perfect performance, Galactic Attack remains a standout among shoot-’em-up fans.
Whether you know it as Layer Section, RayForce, or Gunlock in its various releases, Galactic Attack for SEGA Saturn represents the golden age of arcade shooters—fast, fluid, and endlessly replayable. It’s a must-have for collectors and anyone who appreciates the precision and artistry of 1990s Japanese shoot-’em-ups.
