Skylanders: Trap Team - Nintendo 3DS is an action-adventure game built around collectible Skylanders figures and the Portal of Power. Players bring compatible characters into the game by placing their figures on the portal, then explore platforming stages, battle enemies, collect treasure, and use each Skylander’s unique abilities to progress through the adventure.
The Nintendo 3DS version features its own story and level design rather than simply recreating the home-console release. Gameplay combines combat, exploration, platforming, and character switching, with different elemental types and abilities helping players access certain areas and overcome specific challenges. Trap Team figures are supported, but the handheld version does not use the physical Trap mechanic in the same way as the console editions.
Developed for Nintendo 3DS by Beenox and published by Activision in 2014, Skylanders: Trap Team continued the toys-to-life series with a portable experience tailored to the system.
