Description
Description
The YPbPr train has finally pulled into the PlayStation station, delivering the ultimate cross-country journey to Clarity Town, USA. The HD Retrovision PS1 Adapter is a masterclass in vibrant and high-energy analog conversion, famously designed to bridge the gap between your original Genesis YPbPr cable and the legendary 12-pin output of the PlayStation 1. As a mandatory essential for retro purists and CRT enthusiasts in 2026, this adapter delivers a visceral experience of RGB-to-Component fidelity and professional-grade signal transformation on original hardware.
Ditch the blurry composite signals of the 90s and master the technical depth of the "Genesis-to-PS1" mini-DIN conversion system. This adapter is a visceral experience of pixel-perfect precision, tasking gamers with professionally navigating a high-stakes professional-level odyssey from the iconic startup chime to the high-intensity polygons of Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil. The setup is a masterclass in modular engineering; utilize your existing "freight engine" (the HD Retrovision Genesis YPbPr Cable) and snap on this professional-grade adapter to unlock the sharpest 240p image available on an HDTV or standard-definition CRT. While this product is a technical standout for its broad compatibility with various PS1 models, it is professionally known for its high-stakes requirement: your television must be able to support "240p" over YPbPr to professionally witness the odyssey in action. Beyond the original console, the adapter features limited technical support for PS2 and PS3 consoles, offering a professional-level solution for standard definition modes, provided you professionally enable RGB/SCART output in the system menu. Whether you’re perfecting your "240p Compatibility Test" or surviving a high-energy boss fight in Final Fantasy VII, this adapter delivers a vibrant and high-intensity visual experience. The ticket to Clarity Town is booked—this product delivers the ultimate analog-to-RGB odyssey for your PlayStation library.
This product requires an HD Retrovision Genesis YPbPr Cable. It will not work with a SNES YPbPr cable or any other cable.
Your television or display must be able to support "240p" video over YPbPr to use this product. You can easily test for this by following these steps.
NOTE: Although the PlayStation adapter will work with PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3 consoles, RGB/SCART output needs to be enabled in the system menu and even then it can only operate properly in the standard definition video modes (240p/288p/480i/576i). Additionally, the built-in DVD/Blu-ray Player application in these consoles is restricted from using RGB/SCART mode, so DVD/Blu-ray playback won't display properly when set to this mode. If this missing functionality is important to you, we recommend using the PS2/PS3 YPbPr cable
