Gears of War - Xbox 360
Description
Description
Gears of War - Xbox 360 is a third-person action game set on the war-torn planet Sera, where humanity is fighting for survival against the subterranean Locust Horde. Players take control of Marcus Fenix, a former soldier released from prison to rejoin the fight alongside Dominic Santiago and the rest of Delta Squad.
Gameplay is built around a cover-based combat system that encourages players to move between barriers, flank enemies, and carefully manage firefights. Weapons include the iconic Lancer assault rifle with its chainsaw bayonet, along with shotguns, sniper rifles, grenades, and heavier equipment. The Active Reload system rewards precise timing with faster reloads and improved performance, while the campaign supports two-player cooperative play. The original release also included competitive multiplayer modes.
Developed by Epic Games and published by Microsoft Game Studios in 2006, Gears of War became one of the defining titles of the Xbox 360 generation. Its muscular combat, cinematic presentation, memorable characters, and influential cover mechanics helped establish a major Xbox franchise and make it an essential title for action-game fans and Xbox 360 collectors.
