Halo 5: Guardians - Xbox One continues the story of the Halo universe with a campaign centered on two Spartan fireteams. As Master Chief and Blue Team pursue a mysterious lead, Spartan Locke and Fireteam Osiris are sent to track them down, leading to a conflict that spans multiple worlds and reveals a new threat tied to the future of the galaxy.
Halo 5: Guardians expands the series’ movement and combat systems with abilities such as clambering, sliding, sprinting, ground pounds, and thruster-assisted dodges. The campaign is built around squad-based action, with players fighting alongside AI-controlled teammates or other players in cooperative multiplayer. Large battlefields, vehicles, Covenant forces, Promethean enemies, and cinematic set pieces carry forward the series’ signature sci-fi combat.
Multiplayer is divided between traditional Arena matches and the large-scale Warzone mode. Arena focuses on competitive team-based play, while Warzone combines player-versus-player combat with AI-controlled enemies, vehicles, objectives, and larger maps. With its expanded movement system, cooperative campaign structure, and extensive multiplayer options, Halo 5: Guardians offers one of the most feature-heavy entries in the Xbox One-era series.
