Evolution: The World of Sacred Device for SEGA Dreamcast is a dungeon-crawling RPG that introduces players to a colorful cast of characters and a story filled with discovery and mystery. The game follows Mag Launcher, a young adventurer from a family of explorers, who embarks on a quest with his companion Linear Cannon to uncover the secrets of ancient relics known as Cyframes. Together with a growing party of allies, Mag must navigate dangerous ruins and face enemies drawn to the power of these mysterious devices.
Gameplay centers around randomly generated dungeons, where players battle enemies in turn-based combat using powerful Cyframes—mechanical weapons with unique abilities. Strategic positioning and resource management are key to surviving the many challenges hidden within the ruins. The game’s bright visuals, anime-inspired art style, and lighthearted humor give it a unique charm compared to other RPGs of its era.
