Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko - Nintendo 64 is a 3D platforming adventure starring Gex, the wisecracking gecko, as he travels through a series of television-inspired worlds to rescue Agent Xtra from the villainous Rez. Each area parodies different genres and pop-culture themes, giving the game a humorous presentation filled with movie and TV references.
Gameplay combines exploration, platforming, combat, and collectible hunting across large themed levels. Gex can jump, tail-whip enemies, climb certain walls, and use special abilities suited to different environments. Players collect remotes to unlock new stages, search for hidden items, and complete objectives spread throughout each world. The game also includes boss battles and a variety of level themes that range from horror and science fiction to cartoons and adventure settings.
Developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Midway Games in 1999, Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko was the third main entry in the Gex series and one of its largest 3D adventures.
