The Simpsons Game - Wii is an action-adventure platformer that sends Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and other familiar Springfield characters through an original story written with contributions from the television show’s writers. After discovering that they are characters inside a video game, the Simpsons gain special abilities and travel through a series of parody-filled levels inspired by gaming genres, pop culture, and the television series.
Gameplay combines platforming, combat, puzzles, and character-specific abilities, with players switching between members of the Simpson family to overcome different obstacles. Homer can use powerful physical transformations, Bart relies on Bartman abilities and a slingshot, Lisa can use the Hand of Buddha, and Marge can rally crowds to complete objectives. The Wii version also supports local cooperative play, allowing two players to work through many stages together.
Developed by EA Redwood Shores and published by Electronic Arts in 2007, The Simpsons Game features voice performances from the television cast and extensive references to both Simpsons history and video game culture.
