Description
In Wii Sports Resort, the action moves from the minimalist white gyms of the original game to the lush, sun-drenched Wuhu Island. Released in 2009 as a direct sequel to the cultural phenomenon Wii Sports, it was the first title to require the Wii MotionPlus accessory (or the later Wii Remote Plus). This hardware addition provided a "1:1" tracking experience, allowing for subtle wrist rotations and precise aiming that were impossible on the original hardware.
The game features 12 distinct sports, most of which are broken down into multiple sub-modes. For example, Swordplay includes one-on-one duels, a "Speed Slice" reaction game, and a "Showdown" mode where you fight off waves of opponents. The island itself is a character in its own right; in Air Sports, you can pilot a propeller plane to discover 80 different "i-points" (landmarks), popping balloons and watching the island transition from day to dusk to night as you unlock new features.
