Mech Platoon for Game Boy Advance is a real-time strategy game that brings base building, resource management, and mechanized warfare to the handheld arena. Developed by Kemco, it's one of the GBA’s few true RTS titles and a bold attempt to replicate PC-style strategy gameplay on a portable platform. Set in a futuristic world torn apart by war, Mech Platoon puts you in command of advanced robotic units—mechs—that you build, upgrade, and deploy in combat. The game features three distinct factions, each with unique units, strengths, and visual styles. You’ll harvest resources, construct facilities, research new technologies, and produce combat units to crush your opponents across a wide variety of maps and mission types.
The campaign mode includes over 30 missions, gradually increasing in complexity as new units, structures, and tactics are introduced. Skirmish mode allows for customizable battles against AI, while a two-player mode via Game Link Cable lets you test your skills against a friend.
Gameplay is simplified compared to PC RTS titles like StarCraft or Command & Conquer, but it’s impressively deep for the GBA. You can queue units, assign patrol routes, and use the terrain to your advantage. Tactical positioning and resource efficiency are key to victory.
