Operation C - Game Boy
Description
Description
Operation C - Game Boy is a run-and-gun action game in the Contra series, bringing its fast-paced combat and military sci-fi setting to Nintendo’s handheld. Players take control of elite soldiers fighting through enemy bases, jungles, and fortified areas while battling soldiers, machines, and alien threats across a series of compact action stages.
Gameplay focuses on running, jumping, crouching, and firing in multiple directions while collecting weapon upgrades to improve firepower. Players must react quickly to incoming enemies, projectiles, and environmental hazards, with boss encounters testing both movement and shooting accuracy. The Game Boy format condenses the Contra experience into shorter stages while retaining the series’ emphasis on precision, memorization, and high difficulty.
Developed and published by Konami and released for Game Boy in 1991, Operation C is a portable entry in the Contra series that preserves the franchise’s core run-and-gun design. Its challenging action, weapon upgrades, compact level structure, and connection to one of Konami’s best-known action series make it an appealing choice for retro shooter fans and original Game Boy collectors.
