This is the Player’s Choice edition of Metroid II: Return of Samus for the Game Boy—a reprint of the iconic sequel to the original Metroid, also widely known as Metroid 2. In this handheld adventure, Samus Aran journeys to SR388 to eradicate the Metroid species once and for all, uncovering upgrades and evolving threats in a mission that laid the groundwork for the series’ lore. This version retains all of the original gameplay but features the distinctive Player’s Choice branding, marking it as part of Nintendo’s best-selling lineup. The game would later inspire the reimagined Metroid: Samus Returns, but this cartridge captures the original experience that started it all.
