Description

Alien 3 - Game Boy is a top-down action-adventure game based on the 1992 film, placing players in control of Ellen Ripley inside the prison complex on Fury 161. Unlike many other versions of Alien 3, the Game Boy release emphasizes exploration and survival as Ripley searches the facility for equipment needed to escape.

Players navigate interconnected corridors, rooms, and ventilation shafts while avoiding or fighting Xenomorphs and managing a limited inventory. Weapons and useful items must be found throughout the complex, including a flamethrower and fuel needed to destroy Alien eggs. Progress depends on locating key equipment, learning the prison layout, and surviving encounters with increasingly dangerous enemies before confronting the Alien Queen and preparing an escape pod.

Developed by B.I.T.S. and published by LJN in 1993, Alien 3 for Game Boy differs substantially from the side-scrolling console adaptations of the film. Its overhead perspective, exploration-focused structure, item management, and maze-like prison setting give it a distinct identity among early Alien video games and licensed Game Boy releases.
