Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? Make the Grade is a trivia-based game show title developed by ImaginEngine and published by THQ in October 2008. Released late in the PlayStation 2's lifecycle, the game serves as a digital recreation of the popular Fox television show. Players step up to the podium as an adult contestant tasked with answering questions based on actual elementary school curriculum—ranging from Grade 1 to Grade 5—to prove they haven't forgotten their basic education.

The gameplay features a massive library of over 6,000 questions across 23 different subjects, including Life Science, U.S. Geography, and Social Studies. Like the show, the experience is hosted by the likeness and voice of Jeff Foxworthy and includes a roster of five "classmates" who can assist players via the classic "Peek," "Copy," and "Save" cheat mechanics. In addition to the standard Homeroom Mode for a virtual $1 million prize, the game offers specialized challenges like Flashcards for speed-based play and a Spelling Bee mode focused on identifying misspelled words.

Technically, the PlayStation 2 version utilizes simple 3D character models and sets that mirror the TV studio's aesthetic, targeting a steady 30fps at 480i resolution. A key advantage of this edition is its multiplayer support; while the main campaign is a single-player affair, the Academic Academy Mode allows up to 4 players to compete head-to-head in a trivia showdown. High scores and consistent performance earn players "Gold Stars," which are tracked on an in-game Honor Roll to provide a sense of progression and replayability.
