Breath of Fire - Game Boy Advance is a turn-based role-playing game that follows Ryu, a young member of the Light Dragon clan, as he sets out to stop the Dark Dragons from conquering the world. Along the way, Ryu joins forces with characters including Nina, a winged princess, and other allies with unique abilities that help the party explore towns, dungeons, and dangerous wilderness areas.
Combat uses a traditional party-based turn system with physical attacks, magic, items, and character-specific skills. Ryu can transform into powerful dragons, giving him access to stronger attacks during difficult battles. Outside combat, different party members provide useful field abilities, while exploration includes treasure hunting, fishing, and other side activities that reward players who investigate the world thoroughly.
Originally released for Super Nintendo, Breath of Fire was brought to Game Boy Advance by Capcom in 2001. The handheld version preserves the original story and gameplay while making the first entry in the long-running RPG series portable. Its dragon transformations, varied party members, classic turn-based battles, and fantasy adventure make it a notable role-playing game for Game Boy Advance.
