Dokapon Kingdom for the Nintendo Wii combines RPG character progression with competitive board game mechanics in a colorful adventure where friendship can quickly turn into rivalry. The kingdom of Dokapon has been overrun by monsters, leaving its towns without their wealth. The King calls upon brave adventurers to restore the kingdom, promising his throne—and the hand of Princess Penny—to the hero who earns the most money.
Travel around a board-game-style world, battling monsters, liberating towns, collecting equipment, and developing your character through RPG-style classes and abilities. Each turn gives players opportunities to explore new areas, visit shops, fight enemies, and interfere with their opponents. Victory depends not only on combat strength but also on accumulating wealth, creating plenty of opportunities for strategic decisions, unexpected reversals, and mischievous ways to sabotage competing players.
Developed by Sting and published by Atlus in North America in 2008, Dokapon Kingdom supports both solo play and local multiplayer for up to four players. Its unusual blend of party-game competition and traditional RPG mechanics makes every campaign unpredictable.
