Description
Description
Dragon Quest III - Famicom, released in Japan as ドラゴンクエストIII そして伝説へ… (Dragon Quest III: Soshite Densetsu e...), is a role-playing adventure whose Japanese subtitle translates roughly to “And Into the Legend…” and was later officially localized as The Seeds of Salvation. Players take the role of the legendary hero Ortega’s child and set out to defeat the Archfiend Baramos.
Gameplay expands the series with a customizable party system, allowing players to recruit adventurers from multiple character classes and build a team suited to their preferred strategy. Turn-based battles, equipment upgrades, magic, towns, caves, and overworld exploration form the core of the adventure, while a day-and-night cycle changes certain locations and character interactions. Later in the journey, characters can also change vocations, offering additional flexibility for developing the party.
Developed by Chunsoft and published by Enix in 1988, Dragon Quest III was released for the Japanese Family Computer and features Japanese-language text. Its flexible party creation, expansive world, influential class system, and major role in the series’ overarching story make it one of the most significant early console RPGs and an essential title for Dragon Quest fans and Famicom collectors.
