Description
Fade to Black for PlayStation is a cinematic action-adventure and the sequel to the classic sci-fi game Flashback. Players once again take control of Conrad B. Hart, who awakens aboard a mysterious alien prison ship with no memory of how he arrived there. As fragments of his past begin to return, Conrad must escape captivity and stop a dangerous alien threat before humanity is once again placed in jeopardy.
The game features fully polygonal 3D environments that players explore from a third-person perspective, blending platforming, puzzle-solving, and tactical combat. Conrad can climb ledges, operate machinery, activate switches, collect key items, and carefully navigate hazardous environments while uncovering the truth behind his mission.
Combat emphasizes strategy over run-and-gun action, with players using a variety of futuristic weapons, managing limited ammunition, and taking cover during firefights against hostile aliens and security forces. Exploration is rewarded with hidden items, story revelations, and equipment upgrades that aid Conrad throughout his journey.
Developed by Delphine Software International and published by Electronic Arts, Fade to Black expanded upon its predecessor with fully 3D gameplay while retaining the cinematic storytelling and science-fiction atmosphere that made the original memorable.
