Folklore for PlayStation 3 is a unique action-adventure RPG that blends dark fantasy with mystery and exploration. Set in the sleepy Irish village of Doolin, the story follows two protagonists—Ellen, a young woman searching for answers about her mother’s death, and Keats, a journalist investigating the supernatural. Their paths lead them into the Netherworld, a realm inhabited by creatures known as Folks, where they must uncover secrets tied to life, death, and the unseen forces that connect them.
Gameplay combines exploration with real-time combat, where players capture and command the abilities of defeated Folks. Each creature grants unique powers, allowing for varied strategies and customization in battle. The Netherworld itself features multiple visually distinct realms, each inspired by myth and legend, filled with puzzles, enemies, and hidden lore. The game also showcases striking art direction, atmospheric music, and a deeply immersive narrative told through a mix of cutscenes and illustrated story panels.
