Hyperdimension Neptunia MK2 - PlayStation 3 is a Japanese role-playing game set in the video game-inspired world of Gameindustri. The story shifts focus to Nepgear, Neptune’s younger sister and the CPU Candidate of Planeptune, after the four ruling CPUs are defeated and captured. Nepgear joins the other CPU Candidates and a growing group of allies to fight the criminal organization ASIC and restore stability to Gameindustri.
Gameplay combines dungeon exploration with turn-based battles that allow characters to move around the battlefield before selecting attacks and abilities. Players can build customizable attack combinations, manage action points, equip weapons and accessories, and use powerful transformation abilities that turn the CPU Candidates into their enhanced goddess forms. Party composition and character relationships also play an important role as players progress through the story and complete quests across multiple regions.
Developed by Compile Heart and released for PlayStation 3 in Japan in 2011 and North America by NIS America in 2012, Hyperdimension Neptunia MK2 expanded the original game with a new protagonist and redesigned combat system. Its gaming-industry parody, anime-inspired cast, and character-focused RPG gameplay make it an appealing choice for series fans and PlayStation 3 collectors.
