In Jackie Chan Adventures: Legend of the Dark Hand, the world-traveling archaeologist Jackie Chan is thrust into a race against time when the sinister Dark Hand organization raids his Uncle's antique shop. The story follows Jackie as he travels to global hotspots—including the forbidden temples of Mexico, the icy reaches of Siberia, and the bustling streets of San Francisco—to retrieve eight ancient Kung Fu scrolls. Each scroll Jackie recovers grants him a new combat technique, such as the powerful Back Hand Flip or the Roll, which are essential for defeating the Shadowkhan warriors and reclaiming the magical Talismans before they can be used to release the demon dragon Shendu.
The gameplay is a classic 2D beat-'em-up that emphasizes Jackie's signature improvisational fighting style. Beyond standard punches and kicks, players can pick up and throw environmental objects like crates, chairs, and potted plants, or wield makeshift weapons like umbrellas and sticks to fend off hordes of enemies. As you progress through 10 distinct stages, you are supported by familiar faces from the animated series, including Jackie’s precocious niece Jade, his wise Uncle who provides magical research, and Captain Black of the secret agency Section 13. The adventure culminates in a series of challenging boss battles against the Dark Hand enforcers—Hak Foo, Ratso, Chow, and Finn—leading to a final showdown with Shendu himself.
